For Women!!!!!!!!
I would like to know as well. I asked my surgeon and he said there is not enough data available to give an answer that is supported. But he did say that he has not noticed slower weight loss in his PCOS patients. He said his patients with PCOS have had increased ovarian function after surgery and that the other side effects go away or are lessend with the weight loss. I would be excited to hear what other people have to say.
I'm 31 and have PCOS. I'm four months out today and down a little over 50 pounds. My loss seems to be on the slow side, but seriously? 50 pounds in 4 months is awesome to me, so I'll take it! My cycles regulated themselves after my (miracle) pregnancies and breastfeeding, and they're still regular to this day. I never noticed weird breakthrough bleeding that other post-ops can have, so that was nice. So far I haven' t really seen a decrease in external symptoms but I'm hoping all that stuff will go away as I lose. Still have the pelvic pain, hair on my chin, mood swings, etc. My husband is snipped so I haven't paid attention to ovulation since there's no chance of pregnancy, but I HAVE noticed my cycles of cervical mucous (indicating various points in my cycle, including fertility) are way more regular and "present", if that makes sense.
