United Health Care apporve on VSG?

Did anyone have United Helathcare when they got the VSG? Does anyone know there approval rate for getting the VSG?

I'm not sure of their approval rate,but they only took 6-7 days to approve me for VSG.

 Ok THANKS!!!!! I called them I know I meet all the qualifications for the surgery. Now im waiting for my first doctor visit and all the testing. When did you get VSG? How long was your process from your first doctor visit to surgery? 

Hi: Good to hear, I have United Health Care of Florida, I'm in a special program for handicapped people. Just started working with a WLS doctor , to see if I can get approval. I'm looking into VSG surgery.
I did you have to do the diet program first ?

I was approved in a few days.  There is different Groups with United Heath Care I have Group 2 or B (same thing) I work in a nursing home and I have Group 2 and a co worker  that works in the office as Group 1 or A is also got approved but she has to pay 3000.00 out of pocket were I did not pay anything.

I have to pay 20 percent of it and United will pay 80 percent.

I have UHC and it took no time for me to be approved. That is, once all the paperwork was submitted. It took forever to jump through all the insurance hoops and doctor required hoops.

 I was approved within a week, and had surgery one month later. My plan had no pre-surgery requirements. I paid 20%

I have United Healthcare Choice.  Approved in a week. $100 copay for outpatient lap band removal and then three months later $250 copay for inpatient sleeve.  (just got approval for revision for lapband to sleeve - have not had surgeries yet) 

 Thank you everyone. I'll keep you all updated once I hear from the doctor. Hopefully I can get a appointment beginning of the year so I can start all the testing n hear from UHC by the end of January.
