Lesson for the Day
I have a funny story about a recent doctor's visit. I went to my primary care doctor (not my weight loss doctor) for my regular check-up. Good news is I am off all meds and all health conditions have resolved. So, my doctor decided to give me advice on how to continue losing weight. In the course of this advice he said that I shouldn't use the kitchen table as a place to socialize with the family because it will cause me to eat more. I told him that I live alone and therefore don't have that problem. He said, "Well, that's the problem then, you need to get yourself a boyfriend." Seriously! I told him to stick to health advice and leave the weight loss advice to someone else.
So here is my lesson for everyone today. Doctors only know what they know. They each have a specialty. The reason I go to this doctor is for my heart health and internal medicine stuff. I do not rely on him for weight loss advice or nutrition. I have a nutritionist and I have a weight loss doctor that specialize in that. Too often, people listen to their doctor just because they have MD behind their name. Instead, we all need to be careful about who we listen to and what advice we take.
In the meantime, I am going to run right out and get a boyfriend because it is just that easy and it will solve all my weight problems in the future :)
