Hi everyone.  I am scheduled for surgery on 2/22 (can't wait!!) and have been stocking up on things I will need post-op.  I re-read the info I received from my surgeon's office and it says to take a chewable multi-vitamin, calcium, and iron every day post-op.  I was just shopping on the Bariatrics Advantage website and am stumped because there are different mg amounts of iron.  Can someone tell me how much of an iron supplement I will need?  I don't eat red meat hardly at all and don't intend to start after surgery.

I know I can call my surgeon's office on Monday and they'll gladly help, but I'd like to get this stuff ordered this weekend.  It will be one more thing checked off the "to do" list!

Thanks!

I need 18 mg of iron. If you can find a mufti with iron included, then that's one less pill to take. I use Optisource that can be purchased online or bought locally from Walgreens.

Centrum makes a chewable that has iron and is a WHOLE lot cheaper if you are interested.  There are many on the site that use it succussfully.
