Ging out on a date night with my hubby tomorrow and wondering what kind of alcohol drink I can have! I'm 1 month post op!

At one month post op, you should have none! Just sayin'. It's a bad thing for a healing tummy, besides the fact that it's empty calories.

I waited until 6 months post op to have alcohol.

You really should wait a few months before you start drinking. And the first time you drink you should do it at home because you don't know how it will affect you.

I agree.. your stomach isn't even done healing til about 6 weeks out. We were told after 6 months as well.

Alcohol has sugar, you could start dumping.

It depends on the alcohol - some don't have many carbs, like wine.

Also, it's rare for sugar to cause dumping in a VSG - possible, but rare. Much more likely with an RNY.

I had one glass one wine at 3 months out,just before Christmas. It didn't sit well. The alcohol felt like it burned my sensitive stomach. Just fair warning.
