Home and Sleeved

Besides feeling like a big ball of gas and being a little out of sorts from the anesthesia, I feel pretty good today for being sleeved 2 days ago. Taking in the liquids gets a little better as I go. The walking that I must do every half hour has double purpose for me, prevents blood clots and helps getting those liquids down and gas out. I had a feeling I'd be a hardy girl, I have not needed to use the Lortab pain med and so happy for that, I've been sleeping enough. Today I tackle washing the incisions and rebandaging. So far, I have not regretted this decision for a minute. Thank God and the Universe I made it out ok and thank YOU ALL for being my source of inspiration through this.

Thank you to both of you! This is the first day since my surgery on Monday that I haven't slept through it. I must be one of those ppl that take awhile to come ouf of anasthesia.
I still remember being wheeled into the operating room with the jitters, looking back at my family and wondering what was coming next. If you have fears, embrace them because they are normal and its perfectly ok to be afraid. That something can go wrong is practically grilled into you, but when I saw my surgeon right before surgery he put my mind at ease and said the chances are pretty slim that I wouldnt have a successful surgery.
But let me tell you, once I was awake I was thanking all the gods, goddesses, and deities I could think of! lol
The truth is that you will be scared and jittery up until you go under. I know I was. I dabbled with thoughts of getting up from the pre-op room and saying "nevermind! going home", but I knew that I had prepared myself and I knew the reasons why I needed to do this. Hold firmly to your own reasons and keep recounting them up until the moment, then you will become brave, promise you.

Thanks for the words of encouragement for us still awaiting that Big Day.  My surgery is March 1st and for some strange reason I'm not afraid.  I think I'm more afraid of this 2 wk liquid diet than anything.  I'm glad you made it out safely and w/o any complications and I'm sure the other LOOSERS have dusted off a tiny seat on the LOOSERS bench for you.

So glad you're doing well. I was sleeved a few days prior to you and honestly I was in abject misery for a darned long time. lol Much better now, just working on getting enough liquid in.

Amy, yes I remember we were pretty close in surgery dates. Sorry you had it rough, everyone is different. I felt pretty drained the first day and could barely even talk to my family so just decided to sleep through it. I'm glad to hear you're doing much better now!
