Many claim that you can do whatever you want on Leap Day, Real Life doesnt start until March 1st.

For Me Today, Its Even More Magical!

My little mini stall broke this morning and I lost 2.6 lbs.

I AM OFFICIALLY PAST MY 50% GOAL MARK. (51.1% to be exact)

This means that since I started my journey on October 25th (The day I scheduled my surgery and started my Pre-op Diet) and today I have lost 25.1 % of my total body weight.  This is happening at just about the 4 month mark.  My surgery centers average is being at this point in about 6 months.

In addition, I no longer take any of my diabetes meds, my blood pressure meds, or any prescription for a chronic condition any more.  I am exercising like never before (Walking in the evnings, exercise bike in the AM and simple home strength training). I have also dropped 12 waist sizes.  I will be back in mall sizes soon!

Before surgery, I was not taking very good care of myself.  I pretty much let everything go.  Now I am pretty much doing the whole "Extreme Makeover" home edition.  I am getting my teeth fixed (I have the final appointement in a series that started a weeek after my VSG this Friday).  I take pride in my appearance.  Some people don't even recognize me if they havent seen me in a while.

WOO-FREAKING-HOO

I owe a huge thank you to everyone in my life who has supported me, My parents, My partner, My friends, and My coworkers.  Finally, I owe myself a big round of applause for finally loving myself enough to make a change and doing the hard work to make it happen.

Congratualations!!!  You've worked hard and it shows!  I am also doing a mini makeover.  I am now doing a bit more to take care of my skin better.  I have a regular haircut scheduled for next week and am going to look to get a new, perkier style.  I also got lots of gift cards for Christmas and my birthday and plan to get some nicer clothes soon, as I'm going on a Heritage Tour trip with my daughter and about 170 8th graders and adults in April.  New, smaller and more stylish clothes are in order!

Thanks to everyone on the congratulations and encouragement.  On to the next goal of a BMI under 30 so that I will no longer be clinically Obese, but only overweight.
