I've been approved!!!
I was FINALLY approved for my VSG on February 10th. My surgery date is March 12th. I can't believe it!!! I've been working towards this since 2009 and finally got everything taken care of - all the Dr.'s paperwork submitted, 6 month diet out of the way, labs, etc. etc. etc. I was actually really surprised that I was accepted the first time around. My BMI right now is only 37, but I guess with my few co-morbidities, it helped.
I'm really freaking out about what I can eat for the month afterwards. I just want to know what to stock up on at the grocery store. Actually, what to eat for the next few months (I'm going on a cruise to the Western Carribean in mid-May), so I just want to make sure that I am ready when the time comes and know if I need to take any special foods with me when I go.
My pre-op appointment is tomorrow afternoon. I've got some questions written down, but I want to make sure I ask about everything that I need to know about, as the Dr.'s office is really hard to get ahold of at times.
