Got a question for the vets. I ate fairly late last night and I woke up around 1:30am with a burning sensation in my throat. It tasted like bile( throw up). Do you think it was me vomiting in my sleep? Is it because I ate so late or did I eat too much? Just dont want to feel that again.

UGH!

... Could be acid reflux.... Sometimes worse when you eat late and lay flat ......

I am not a vet, but I have experienced that when my reflux is out of control. My surgeon told me not to eat at least 2 hours prior to going to bed and to sleep with my head slightly elevated if it's comfortable. I have noticed that eating too close to lying down makes my reflux worse.

I get it too if I eat right before going to bed.

Yep, reflux. I don't have this, but hubby (not a surgery patient) does and he won't eat closer than about 2 hours before bedtime. If he even wants to take a nap during the day and has eaten he takes an antacid.

I can almost count on reflux if I eat before going to bed. Even worse if I eat a lot or it is spicy. The waking up with the burn, and aspirating some so you choke isn't a lot of fun and better to avoid if possible.
