Nine weeks today and I wake up and get on the scale, pretty much a daily routine now and what do I see, I am down 51 lbs!!! I am so excited I was so hoping to hit 50 lb loss mark by today, words just can not express!!! People are complimenting me and it's surreal.  I look in the mirror and I can't believe I was 51 lbs heavier just 9 short weeks ago.  It's almost like I can't see where the fat came from, I still see fat me when I look in the mirror, of course I have another 100 lbs or so go, but I don't see the huge difference other people are seeing.  51 lbs.  51 LBS!!!

Awesome, congrats! When I had previously lost 100lbs on my own I couldn't see the difference that other people were seeing either. If I look at pictures, though, it's pretty obvious. I think it's because we see the slight changes every day and they just kind of morph into the final product. Other people get snapshots that are more distinct.

Congratulations!  Take progression pics... that will help you see it.  We have to change our mind set about how we look.  I just ask God to let me see myself accurately.  I did that prior to surgery too... for some reason, I did not see myself as big as I was... such a weird perception thing, isn't it?  But the camera helps reality sink in either way.  :O)

I hope I do as well on my 9 week mark.  I am only weighing in at appointments right now.  So my next one is my 3 months post-op check up.  Thinking I may give in and weigh myself before then though.

“Not many of us are living at our best.  We linger in the lowlands because we are afraid to climb the mountains.  The steepness and ruggedness dismay us, and so we stay in the misty valleys and do not learn the mystery of the hills.  We do not know what we lose in our self indulgence.  What glory awaits us if only we had the courage for the mountain climb.  What blessing we should find if only we would move to the uplands of God.?  JRM
