Weight loss not a coincidence...

Hi all-
I started eating low carb two months ago. I wanted to start making lifestyle changes before my end of June surgery. I having been eating low carb, but haven't been super strict on portion sizes. I know that will come for sure once I have the surgery!  Before this week I had lost 27 pounds in two months.
My next lifestyle change is giving up my Pepsi One pop. (soda for people not from MN!)  I have been drinking it every day for years for the caffeine since I am not a coffee drinker. Most days I have had 3 or 4 cans, and many days even five or six. I knew it was very bad for me and was part of my addiction issues related to food. So, this week I decided to allow myself one can a day for a couple of weeks, and then I will give it up entirely.  I lost 3 pounds this week without making any other changes! I am sure it is because of doing away with all of those cans of pop. It is so satisfying to see how significant little lifestyle changes can be to your body!

I drank Diet Coke, Tab or Diet Dr Pepper everyday for years. Very rarely did I have water and I'm not a coffee drinker. I tried to give it up pre op but just couldn't so I went cold turkey. I'm 2 months out and don't miss it. Good for you for cutting back before hand.
