Hi Gabby,
I saw Dr Chin today. He is really nice and patient. He took his
time with me and answered every question, no matter how small
it was. I do really like him. He showed me exactly where the
small incisions would be made; showed me charts of the procedure;
gave me a prepared booklet with all the information I will need after
surgery; sent me to have lab work, and ordered precriptions needed
for after surgery. My husband asked his nurse if I could get a
sooner surgery if there were any cancellations, and she said she
would flag my file should anyone cancel. There was no pre op diet
ordered. Just liquids the whole day before surgery. After I got home my labs
were already on the computer. I am now concerned about the result
on the Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN) test. It says the reading should be
under 19. My reading came back 24. This appears to be an important
test since it involves the liver and kidneys. Women have higher readings
on this test than men. Dehydration is also an issue. A high reading can
happen if you have consumed a lot of meat or protein within 24 hours of
the test. I did gorge myself with tuna for dinner last night. I hope this
doesn't cause a problem. Wish me luck. Feel free to ask any questions.
