I don't think I'm going to lose my hair

I was worried, but I'm 3.5 months out with no sign of thinning. Does that mean I'm in the clear? If so, WOOO-freakin'-HOOO!

I take a multivitamin - mine is for women over 50 - daily, along with calcium with D added, 2x/day and 1000mcg B-12 under the tongue, weekly. Other things I take, but for different reasons are: Glucosamine 2x/day; fish oil, 2 geltabs 2x/day; and a low-dose aspirin 1x/day. I have been taking all of those things, except for the B-12, for years, not just since surgery. I don't know why some people have hair loss and others don't. Many people have been taking similar vits/sups as me, and even more, and still experienced hair loss. I feel very lucky though!
I thought that I wasn't going to lose my hair either but it was right after I assumed that that it started falling out in copious amounts. It still is. I have to clean my brush minimum of 3 times everytime I style my hair. I leave hair EVERYWHERE.
Fortunately, I had about 3 times the average persons hair to start with.

That is your one-time anecdotal experience. I don't doubt that it happened. My point was the primary or general reason for hair loss is the anesthesia. The longer one is under the more blood gets circulated to the core and away from the hair follicles. The follicles go dormant and switch to the loss phase (I forget the medical term, effluvium or something like that). Each time I have had surgery (gallbladder, c-section, ovarian cyst) I have lost hair but no weight. This time I am losing hair and weight! Yay! :)
