I really want an orange. Can I have an orange??
I'm 3 months post op and can't find the section on my binder about fruit....if it was even ever there. I'm hoping someone can advise me. I bought 2 oranges yesterday and I'm just staring at them now wondering if they are even allowed. I saw somewhere that said to cut off the middle stringy part (cartelige?) (it's called something but I can't remember).
What do you say folks???

I was allowed raw fruits/veggies/nuts at 3 months. I avoided fruits because they took up room that I could give to protein. But, a couple of slivers would have been okay'd per my guidelines back then.

i think a small amount of fruit is ok at this stage provided that you can keep within your calorie limits. I would eat a few grapes at this stage and that seemed to keep my sweet tooth at bay.
A word of caution though - keep it to a few segments and be mindful if you start wanting more and more. Thats how you can get off track. At this stage forming new habits is as important as just losing weight. Being mindful of what you eat and recognizing danger foods is part of the process.
My doctor is really down on fruit but I found the few grapes worked ok and even the dietician said it was fine. diane
