I am in the grips of a stomach bug - going on four days now. I met with my NP and she said that it was going around : ( She said I could take Zofran for the nausea if I was not getting enough fluids in. Has anyone taken this? TIA

I had horrible nausea and dehydration about 10 days post-op. The ER doc gave me Zofran and it was a lifesaver.  I had to be on it for about two weeks as my body recovered from the massive dehydration.  It's powerful, but it works.  I have been on PPIs for years, and have had prior nausea meds prescribed when my stomach issues got bad (many years pre-op), but Zofran was the best medication for me when I got sick post-op.
