Bad taste in mouth

Is it ok to chew gum or have certain kinds of mints?  Trying to get rid of this bad taste in my mouth.

I have Sugar Free Altoids for this.

 Very common, it's b/c you are in ketosis. Keep brushing and invest in some of those Listerine strips that melt on your tongue, those where the only thing that kept my husband from divorcing me LOL It does not last forever, and will be less obvious and prevalent once you get back to a "normal" diet.

 You may also find in the next few weeks that your deodorant just does not cut it and you might have to change brands for a bit.

 Thank you for that advice I'm 4 weeks post op. it is getting better but sometimes it is really bad some days.  Lol!

 Early on I found that chewing gum added too much air to my little stomach. I seem to remember the doc not wanting us to chew gum for a period after surgery as well... yeah, the bad breath is most likely ketosis.

If your tongue is also covered in white, it may be thrush. No biggie, the doc will just call in a prescription mouthwa****'s just an overgrowth of yeast. We get antibiotics with surgery so it's common.

Hang in there, it does get better!
