I started my six months of weighing with a bmi of less than 40 but with lower back pain and high cholesterol. Now I'm on my second month visit and have a bmi of 40 with the addition of high blood pressure. Should I start the weigh ins all over because now my bmi is 40 and have a better chance of insurance approval or should I stick with this and hope I get approved, about to make appt with surgeon as I know they will have a better idea. Just wanted to know what others opinions might be. Really want to have insurance approve this but if not I'm going to Mexico. So tired of this struggle.

Who is your surgeon?  I too started out with a BMI under 40 but at the end of my 6 months with my PCP ended up with a BMI of 40 and was approved immediately.  I had some arthritis issues and had just started taking BP meds and cholesterol was a little high.  Where in Alabama do you live?
