First Things First:
Yesterday marked my 7-Month Sleeve Anniversary & This is my 1st OH.com Forum Topic Post!

When I first got sleeved my most common concern was whether or not I was losing the "right" amount of weight and I couldn't find many posts from VSGers tracking their weight loss to compare myself to. (Even though my doctor told me NOT to compare myself to others).

The second thing I always seemed to have on my mind was how much more weight do I need to lose before I go down a pant size?

After surgery I began weighing myself (something I HATED to do pre-op) and I began tracking my weight on a regular basis. Once my clothes started to get too big I began tracking my waning pant size along with my weight.

Disclaimer: I'm pretty frugal (AKA the cheapest person I know) so I definitely wore my pants longer than I needed to just to avoid springing for a new pair once the old ones started to get loose.

2nd Disclaimer: My doctor told me I was almost losing weight too fast after the first few months. (Obviously she is unaware that in the eyes of the obese there is no such thing as losing weight "too fast") But I wanted to let readers know that I'm only giving my weights as an example and remind you that your doctor and nutritionist will be able to tell you if your rate of weight loss is right for you.

3rd Disclaimer: I weighed myself at somewhat random intervals. Some weeks I was a little obsessive and weighted myself almost every day. At first my plan was just to weigh myself every Tuesday when The Biggest Loser was on TV but you know what they say about the best laid plans, don't you?

I made a couple notes when the number on my scale at home was different than the scale at the doctor’s office (typically my scale at home says I'm a few pounds heavier).  Also, my "starting" weight was what I weighed when I started the pre-op program, not my highest weight.

So here you go...

Hi!  I believe for roughly every ten pounds you loose you drop one pants size! I am happy for you! Can't wait to start my journey on the loosers bench!

Not really ---depends on where you are at in the process. I lost 75lbs before I lost a pant size when I started...just saying.

I think it also has a lot to do with your body type, height, where you carry your weight, where you lose your weight etc. but bellyfat612 was right that for me it seems like I go down a size just about every ten pounds.

Everyone is different though, which is why my doctor told me not to compare myself to others, but sometimes it helps give me perspective and motivation. I also just need to know that I'm not alone sometimes.

Yeah, the smaller you get the faster the sizes go down. I went from a 10 to an 8 to a 6 all within about 15 lbs.

Thanks Belly! You'lll be here before you know it- did you set a surgery date yet?

Also, do I even need to mention that women's pant sizes are CRAZY!?
Its not like men's sizes that give you a waist and inseam measurement so sizing can really vary brand-to-brand. That's why I tried to list what brand the pants were.

Nice job! You may find yourself dropping sizes faster the smaller you get, I pretty much skipped the 12s and went right into 10s, and then 8's to 6's all within about 15 lbs!

Trip, you just made my day... I would love to skip a few sizes!

As I mentioned in my original post, I am SUPER cheap so its been killing me to buy a new pair of pants that I know (well, hope) I will be too small for in just a little while. I hope that continues to be my biggest "problem" during this journey!!

Also, Am I the only one who keeps their old pants? At some point do I need to really convince myself that I will never be that size again and that I should just throw them away? (or donate, or BURN)

I sold my old pants on Craigs List, made enough money to by myself a FitBit! LOL I don't hang on to anything anymore!
