Pain in stomach after swallowing
I am nine weeks out and just started having an uncomfortable pain in my stomach when I eat or drink anything. It happens a few seconds after I swallow and really hurts for about 3-10 seconds, then almost completely disappears. It almost feels like I want to double over and then it's gone. I see my surgeon tomorrow for my 6 week checkup (soonest I could get in to both the dr. and the nut.) and I will tell him about it for sure, but I'm wondering if anyone else had something like this. I am almost avoiding eating all together. Any veterans had the same thing?
Of course it started to improve today. It is still there, but much better. Dr. said to start Previcid or Prylosec. If no improvement in a week, call and he will schedule a scope. He said so many things are moving around inside due to the shrinking fat. Your lungs, stomach, intestines, kidneys, all your organs are "settling" into new areas that could be causing some uncomfortableness. It is easing up, so I am not worried anymore. I'll start the Prilosec tonight and hope everything just settles into place. I hope yours eases up soon too. Good Luck!
