Non-weight related goals!

So I know we've had some weekly non-weight related goals.  I'd like to start a long term, non-weight related goals thread.

I've got 4 right now:

1) Finish the Army 10 Miler somewhere below a 11:30 mile (I ran 9 miles at 11:39 avg mile on Sunday).  The Army 10 miler is in 25 days.

2) Be able to do 1 pull-up

3) Be able to take an Army PT test and get a 90/90/90 score.  I need 38 push-ups (in 2 min.), 52 sit-ups and a 17:24 2 mile run (I'm only 2 sec. off this right now).

4) Run Marine Corps Marathon next year (Nov. 2013)

So having goals is all well and good but we also need to know how we're going to get there.

For the first, I'm going to up my sprints for the last 3 weeks of training and see if I can't really work on that time.  Hal Higdon's website is my source of information mostly.

For #2, I went ahead and signed up at a gym with child care.  I'm also going to purchase a TRX system for the basement and then I'm going to follow a plan to help me build up those muscles I need for pull-ups.  All of this should also help with goal #3 for push-ups.

Start training for a full-marathon, sometime early summer 2013.

What are your non-weight goals? Not just fitness but food related as well, or heck whatever it is you need to work on long term.

I like this post!
My first goal is to walk the Thanksgiving Day Race (10k).
My second is to increase my protein intake to acceptable levels.
My last goal is to be able to ride comfortably in a roller coaster seat with my children by summer of next year.

I'm going to accomplish my first goal by training 4 days a week. I'm up to 4mi/day.
My second goal is my most difficult. I'm increasing my shakes to 2/day.
And if I stick to my plan, my last goal will be attainable!

That's fantastic.  not fitting in a roller coaster is one of the things that led me to have surgery in the first place so I totally feel you!  I will say that having the breast reduction probably helped more with that than the weight loss though.

Keep at it and make sure you check back after your race and let us know how you did!

1- to be hot skinny ***** with a flat stomach by the time im 30 - yes, yes, this is my "goal" - one long surgery, even longer recovery and a fortunte later, hopefully I can acomplish this in 9 months ;)

2 - give up and/or reduce coffee - ironically, I dont have a plan for this one yet...I'd imagine I will have to start alternating reg and decaf to avoid major withdrawal

3 - along with #2, give up/reduce the amount of artificial sweetner I use - the bulk comes from my coffee drinking, but this is wayy more long term - like over the next year or two. I might start experimenting with other natural sweetners as an alternative.

4 - switch insurance companies, find a good therapist, work on some food issues so that I can start working on #2,3.

5- finish half marathon in October, but also do another one in 2013. I'd one day like a sub 30 5K, be able to do push ups and sit ups.

11/16/12 - Got my Body by Sauceda - arms, Bl/BA, LBL, thigh lift.

WOW!  I don't think I could do the coffee thing at all.  More power to you.  I have lessoned my starbucks though and mostly just drink what I make at home.

I can't WAIT to see your pics post surgery.  I can't tell you how jealous I am.  I've placed a "piggy" bank on top of my dryer and any $ found in pockets goes into the piggy.  Hopefully, some day I'll have enough for an LBL and hopefully my arms too.
