Does anyone else experience this strange side effect?

A few minutes after I eat I sneeze.  It never fails,  its almost like my body is saying enough.

Does this strange side effect happen to anyone else?

It doesn't bother me, I just find it strange.  A friend of mine was sleeved 2 yrs ago and he mentioned to me that he has experienced this side effect as well.

Just wondering

Yes!  Sometimes a sneeze, sometimes one hiccough.  Mine isn't every time, though!

YES!

But only if I have taken one bite too much.

Probably means your eating to much every time....back off your measurement a little....

Always try to under eat your capacity......

Yes,  it's your body's signal to stop eating.  I hiccup and stop eating immediately and the hiccups will stop.  Other people will sneeze, like you, or develop a runny nose.

There is a scientific explanation for this if you are interested.  The vegus nerve and the sinus nerve are close together, so when we overeat the vegus nerve is aggravated and that then effects the sinuses.  It is a clear sign that you have eaten a bit too much.  It is not great to use this as a barometer of "full", as it means you have already exceeded your capacity.

2 years post op and still get the hiccups when I have had enough to eat. It is my sign that I have had enough. My husband has had the lap band, when he is full, his nose runs.  Kinda gross but true.  Gotta love these little reminders.

For me it is three small burps in a row or the hiccups. I know to stop or the next sign will be the foamies, yuck.
