Onederland at last! Stair-stepping down the scale

I've been stair-stepping my way down the scale since my VSG on 6/28. Lose, stall, lose, stall, lose, stall... But today the scale read 198.8!  I started at 251 on my surgery day, so I have lost 52 pounds in 4 1/2 months.  I started my journey towards VSG at 282 pounds, so total loss of 83 pounds. I am wearing my size 14 Calvin Klein jeans (from Goodwill!) today and feeling great.  I am getting lots of compliments every day at the school where I teach.  My thighs no longer rub together when I walk.  I am eating a pretty limited diet but I am pretty content with it. I work about 65 hours a week, so I have a selection of foods that fit my plan that I stick with throughout the week. I am hoping to have some time to cook a little and try some new things over Thanksgiving. But truly, food just doesn't taste that great anymore and even past favorite foods have little appeal for me.  The one food I love is the Matrix mint cookie shake with unsweetened almond milk. I have that every day, and look forward to it. Maybe even crave it a little. So far so good on the VSG journey!

Congratulations! This is such a big milestone! I hope to reach this myself next week (at 203 this morning!). I also don't have the desire for the same foods I loved preop. Not even pizza, which is so mind blowing. Way to go on losing 83 pounds! Rock on!

If you change nothing, nothing will change.

Thanks! Isn't it great to have the days of eating a whole pizza gone forever?

Awesome! I bet the stair-step method is a bit frustrating but the results are still great - keep it up!

Thanks Tom!  Now I need to start focusing on the exercise part. That's been hard with all of the hours I work, but I know that doesn't mean I can't do it.

I hear you on the exercise vs time issue. I'm in a good place on that for now, but I know that time stress can throw me off.  The results are so positive right now that I'm hoping they become more self- sustaining as I get close to goal. These last few pounds will take some extra effort.

Wow! Sounds like you are doing great. Congrats on your success. I sure hope I crave protein shakes some day lol :)
