100 lbs gone!!!!! Holy schnikes!!
Today I cried happy, happy tears as I weighed myself this morning. In March 2011 I weighed 342 lbs, my highest weight post-baby (I was 317 when I found out I was pregnant and off the 350-limit scale at the end of my pregnancy). Between that time and the time of my surgery (7/27/12), I lost, gained, and eventually lost 27 pounds. Today, I can say I have lost 73 in the 3 1/2 months after surgery, for a grand total of 100 pounds!
I have 87 pounds left to go to reach my goal, so for me I still have a way to go. However, life at 242 is sooooo much better than being over 300! Here are my top 10 NSVs as I think about my health and wellness today:
1. Doing 10 jumping jacks in front of my students last week and not even having to catch my breath.
2. Jogging (holy **** jogging!!!) 1.25 miles nonstop last week on the treadmill...the last time I attempted to jog (in June), I ran less than 1/16 of a mile at a time, totaling less than .25 of a mile. Thus, I'll be participating in a 5K "Turkey Trot" this Thanksgiving!
3. Going from size 26 pants (tight) to having loose size 20 pants. Perhaps I'll need to wear the size 18 pants I got from Goodwill pretty soon!
4. Finally fitting into a Forever 21 sweater (size L)...it cracks me up that at age 34, I'm finally wearing Forever 21! My other shirts are either an XL or a loose 1X.
5. Having waaay more energy in the, uh, loving department. My husband seems happier, too.
6. Moving my car seat up so I can reach the pedals! The car seems spacious now.
7. Having people hug me and they can wrap their arms around me all the tighter.
8. Having friends who are truly supportive and excited for me...one of my oldest friends glowed with happiness when she saw me last weekend (she hadn't seen me post-surgery).
9. Not being uncomfortable in office/restaurant chairs anymore! One of the worst things about my weight was squeezing my ass into chairs, when they obviously had a size limit. Same goes for restaurant booths.
10. Being able to feel more 'normal' and not always the fattest person in the room...although I am sure I will still be in the 'fat girl' mindset for a while longer...hell, I'm still fat! However, I'm thisclose to being under the "Extremely Obese" designator (my BMI is 40.2!). And, I'm a whole lot happier with myself, my body, and my mindset. I'm in a much better place than I have ever been. I love my sleeve!!
Blessings to you all! Thanks for reading!
