Anyone On Dialysis and going through WLS?

Anyone On Dialysis and going through WLS?  I am having my VSG this Friday.  I've always had a problem with my weight but one of the reasons (besides wanting to move and have a better quality of life!) is so I can be placed on the Kidney Transplant List or have a relative donate to me.  Anyone going through or have gone through the same? 

I am. I've been on dialysis for 15 yrs and had VSG in Aug. It really isn't a problem as far as your treatment goes- the doc will probably dialyze you in the hospital. I feel fantastic since surgery. PM me if you want to chat more about it.

Hello, I just found your message. It took a long time for me to get my surgery.  I just had it on Oct. 8th and to date I have lost approx. 35 pounds.   How are you doing? I hope you are still on this site. How is your dialysis going?  It's going okay for me.  I've been on since 2008.  The WLS is helping me keep my fluids down so dialysis is easier.  I ended up having the full gastric bypass with another surgicall group.  They did a friend of mines surgery and she is doing very well.  I'm learing how to eat again but I'm not doing real well with eating meat.  I'm working at it though.. Certain food still won't stay down.  I live in Cartersville, GA, where are you from?  Tell me more about you.~  Rhonda
