How much can you eat at a sitting?
I am 5 weeks post op and cleared to eat whatever I want. However, I can't get that much in at a meal. For instance, this morning I ate an over easy egg and tried a few bites of turkey sausage for extra protein and I felt like I was going to explode. I normally only eat the egg and have a hard time getting it down. Dinners that consist of baked chicken, I am lucky if I can get 1 oz in. This is leaving me very short on protein, so I try drinking shakes, but I haven't found one yet that sits well with me. I was wondering if I should be able to eat more at this point.
Where do you get the unjury non flavored powder from? I guess I need to buy some of that to add throughout the day and also some protein bars. I only eat 3 meals a day, no snack. I think I need to add some snacks in, but that affects the amount of water I can take in since I can't drink 30 min before or after I eat anything. Thanks for the info
I know the water intake part is really difficult. That is why I get the crystal light individual packs of lemonade or iced tea and put them in a bottled water with one scoop of the unjury powder. You have to get use to the taste. Cold is best for me. That is 20 grams of protein and it keeps me full between meals.

No worries, and be thankful for that restriction! You are still swollen and your capacity will increase over time. Keep looking for a protein shake that you can tolerate. Have you tried the high protein hot chocolate or maybe protein powder in the morning coffee? Keep experimenting- the protein is critical. I used Isopure Plus early out. Goes down a lot easier than the protein shakes and minimal calories to boot. How about the high protein cream of chicken soup? There really are a lot of options out there so don't give up!

I'm 20 months out and can only eat 2 oz of dense protein, up to 3 oz of softer food. That's smaller than average for 20 months.
What you're describing seems about right for 5 weeks. Your capacity will slowly increase for a while.

I won't describe a day now because I'm crazy active and in maintenance which means sometimes I eat high calorie foods on purpose to avoid losing more. Instead, let's look at what I ate when I was losing (you could add more protein food, less shake but it was just easier for me with my tiny tummy to do it this way - I still have two shakes a day at 20 months):
Breakfast: protein smoothie; if I was doing just chocolate I'd add some dark chocolate cocoa powder or mint and lots of ice, then blend for a thick almost milk-shake thing. Occasionally I'd have a berry smoothie - one cup almond milk, one or one and a half scoops protein powder, a half cup FROZEN berries and a pack of sweetener depending on the kind of berry.
Mid morning - some lean meat
Lunch - greek yogurt or some other protein food or often a ready made shake
Snack - a veggie something (broccoli or a teeny tiny micro salad with dark greens)
Dinner - some lean meat, then a protein shake later in the evening

Almost forgot - 800 calories, 40 or so carbs, 100 grams of protein, didn't worry about fat (keep the calories low and your biggest problem will be are you getting enough fat, not too much)
