Soooooo... I am going to be "sleeved" on 1/23!! I am of course nervous but excitement has set in for the most part...kiss

I begin a 1000 calorie diet tomorrow for 2 weeks. I sort of have 2 questions..

1- Can u take any of the protein shakes and make them into a smoothie/slushie?

2- Any tips on great tasting protein shakes or on how to make them tastier??

Thanks!!

Kris

Hi there!

I think you can make any powdered protein shake into a smoothie/slushie by putting it into a blender.

You can always add Torani sugar free flavored syrups to shakes.  I like adding banana flavor to my chocolate shakes or strawberry syrup into vanilla.  I especially love to put PB2 into my chocolate to taste like a Reese's Peanut butter shake!

A lot of people put SF jello pudding flavors like banana, cheesecake or pistachio into vanilla shakes too!!!

Somewhere on this site, someone posted a very long list of smoothie/shake recipes.  Do a search!

I used Premier Protein Chocolate shakes as a meal replacement (lunch) for a month prior to surgery. They were by far the best tasting ready to drink shakes that I found and CHEAP! Less than $1.50 each. You can get a 18 pack for $25 at Sam's/Costco. They are thin and not gritty. I looked forward to drinking them. I never needed to make them taste better. You could pop it in the freezer for a little bit for a slushy if you wanted.
