A year ago today I started my journey, I weighed 281 lbs and now weigh 177, I had type 2 diabetes, was taking 9 pills a day, high bp.meds for this, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, Today all those conditions are gone. I never thought I would be someone who could say she lost over a hundred  pounds. I ended up with a leek, a second surgery on Feb 1 and 6 weeks in the hospital, picc line TPN feeds, anything that could go wrong did. When I finally made it home everything just clicked and I haven't had any problems since.

It has been a great year, I got married in July, something I said I would never do again,lol....my oldest son will be getting married this year in Oct. so T am very excited for that.

I read the forums everyday even though I don't post too often I am gratefully for the experiences of others who do post.

So in closing, Thank You....I will just keep on doing what I have been doing and I WILL weigh 160 lbs.

Sue

Way to go Girl!  You fought the hard battle and won!

When I started the journey for my band I was 280 and the doc said I was on the edge for diabetes and a heart valve was starting to thicken from years of HPB.  I got to 198 one day with the band.  My goal is 175 so I can really identify. Now my goal is to catch youkiss

Congratulations.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.
