Hi: How soon after surgery were you able to drive, without any problems ?

I was told one week.  So I got chauffeured around for 7 days :).  By the 8th day I got behind the wheel myself and had no issue whatsoever. 

I was told 48 hours

One week for me....I drove about 6 days after when I was no longer on pain meds

You know your body and how you feel.  If you are off pain meds. and feel that you can do it then do it.  I am 6 days post op and am having abdominal pains in the muscle wall.  It is painful for me to walk.  The doctor says that this happens from time to time.

They said a week but that was assuming I was taking pain medication.  They told me that I had to wait 48 hours after being on any pain meds.

I was cleared to drive at my first postop visit to the surgeon, i.e. 12 days postop.  I was READY to drive sooner than that.  :)

 

I was told it was okay to drive after I was off all painkillers. I ended up driving three or four days after I got home.
