Sleeping Position

Folks,

I have slept on my side for a long time. However, I am wondering if that is possible right after surgery. I have a back issue that flares up when I sleep on my back (unless its a nap in my recliner!) and I haven't slept on my stomach for years.

So, how soon after surgery were you able to sleep on your side?

Jeff

Same here.  I was a little twingey, and I was very, very careful with turning and such, but it was doable.

No problem for me either but used a pillow for a little extra comfort/security.
When is your surgery?

The plan looks like March or early April. I'll know more in a week or two. I see my primary care Doc for the 6th time next week.

I guess it's highly individual... I slept on the recliner for quite a while and couldn't turn at all completely to the either side, only kind of tipping over.. pillows help under the stomach to support the weight.....it's much better now, 4 weeks out. Still no turning on my stomach...
