Today is 9 months for me from my surgery date, and after a few teases from the scale gods earlier this week, I finally passed the 100-pound mark.  I'm actually glad it didn't happen until today - what an anniversary present!!

I can't seem to add photos here, but I did get them onto my profile.  The blurry one is from the morning I started my pre-op diet, and there's another pre-op one from a cruise last March. The other two are from a Pentatonix concert two weeks ago and my husband's birthday dinner last Thursday.

If you are in the research stage, all I can say is I will forever be grateful for this surgical blessing.  I have my life back.  There are challenges along the way, but nothing compared to the helpless feeling of hitting my head against a wall for 20 years with no lasting results to show for it.  I always knew what to do to eat right...now I can actually do it without my body fighting me.  I do not feel deprived, I enjoy food and am in control of what I eat.  And there is so much strength that comes from feeling in control!!!!

Best of luck to everyone, wherever you are in your journey.

Congratulations!  Nine months and 100 pounds down.  That is just fantastic.
