My 1 year surgiversary.. :)
Pointers.. Hmm, lets see..
~ Don't get discouraged with stalls - they are normal and WILL happen - A LOT. Give your body time to adjust.
~ Don't skimp on your protein & water. You NEED this.
~ Find a support group. Talking with others who have been there/done that is VITAL.
~ Find what works for you and do it.
~ Take pictures and measurements and compare them monthly. There will be times when you can't see it in the mirror - you will need the visual reminders.
~ Find an exercise you like and make it part of your routine. Walk with a friend, join a club - something.
~ Eat. Starving yourself is easy in the beginning because you aren't hungry. Be healthy - eat nutritious foods
~ If you notice a bad habit creeping in, stop it. Don't let it go on. The longer you allow it, the harder it is to stop it.
~ Enjoy the ride. Don't get so caught up on "OMG, I have to get to goal" that you forget to live during this time.
~ Keep your head in check. Don't get arrogant, but don't be blind to your successes. Find a balance.
Good luck - this is truly a life changing experience. I wish you many successes.
