Does anyone know why we have stalls (besides "oh, it's just your body adjusting"? I'm a very logical and medical person and I feel like if I know why this is happening, i will be able to accept it easier. It just doesn't make mathematical sense, and I actually gained today!

Thanks

There are lots of factors. I am not an expert, but these are things I can think of. Our bodies are composed of so much water. Ebbs and flows in water and electrolytes affect fluid balance. Water does have a significant amount of weight and fat is flushed away with water, hence one reason we drink water. Balance of calories in and calories burned is variable as well. Your body must have calories/energy to do things at the cellular level and there may be times when your body is actually edifying itself rather than breaking down fat or muscle. There are times when you will build muscle. Muscle does have weight. There are times when weight loss may not show on the scale but you may still be in ketosis and you are still losing inches all over your body. The weight loss may lag a little during those times.
