7 weeks and a few observations
Wednesday will mark 7 weeks since my surgery and I'm adjusting to my new life style. I'm down 55 lbs since I started my pre-op diet and 25 lbs since surgery and I've made a few observations along the way.
First, this IS a new life style. What I thought about food in the past is not how I think about food today. Now, although I still enjoy the anticipation and taste of a good meal, I find after a few bites I really don't care anymore. I hope it stays that way. Second, restriction changes from day to day. Some days I have lots of restriction, others not so much. However, I haven't been able to get more than 800 calories in any one day. Interesting. Next, I need to be more patient. I want my weight loss to be immediate but we all know it isn't. I need to be happy with an average of 3-4 lbs a week. Funny, before surgery I would have been thrilled with that kind of weight loss.
And finally so far, I'm enjoying this new journey I'm on. Pretty cool!
