2 pre-journey wins today! I'm tracking stuff on MFP and practicing/rehearsing the process of tracking everything. I have a week to go until I hit my 2 week 20g carb preop diet.

I was in a half-day meeting where food was provided. I was sitting next to the box of bagels. They smelled delicious, but I didn't want one. Thanks, protein loading first thing in the morning!

Box lunches were ordered in. I had the fruit cup and 1/2 of the sandwich. I left the rest of the sandwich, the chips, and the cookie behind. i felt satisfied, no regrets.

I realize I am eating way more carbs than I will be starting a week from now, but I'm proud of the practice steps I'm taking. I am learning about myself and realizing that I just need to keep that protein coming constantly to keep hunger spikes later in the day.

Great job! Your doing awesome recognizing that you don't need as much to stay satisfied and it sounds like you are really focusing on making better food choices! You are on the right track, keep it up!

Great job! Starting to track early seemed to help me as well. Now it's a habit. And it gets easier after surgery when you are practically consuming nothing :) Decreasing the carbs gradually helped me to avoid serious carb withdrawal symptoms. Keep on tapering down and you will be great next week!

Keep up the great work!  You are making some very sound choices and getting your head in the game now, which will reap rich rewards postop.
