First 5 K Race finished; and I'm 57 years old I can't believe I did it!!!!

I finished my first 5K race today and I can't believe I did it. It took me 44 mins; it was super windy today and the first 3K were into the wind across an airfield and down a hangar line. I almost gave up but I dug in and did it. Less than a year ago at 120 lbs heavier I only dreamt of ever being able to do something like this. I love my sleeve and I love the fact that I can now participate in life. I only wish I had this done years ago.

Sorry for the big picture - I don't know how to make it smaller.

That is so inspiring. I've been wanting to start prepping for a 5K. Something I have dreamed of for so long. I'm 50 and so excited it is possible.

Have you ever had trouble with your fascia ligaments when you walk or run?

I know who would have thought at 57 I could do it. And yes I have had problems with my fascia ligaments and achilles and my big toe joints; but the more I work out and run the better they are getting. In fact if I don't run for a few days my one foot keeps me up at night with pain. I have arthritis in the big toe joint and it hurts up into the arch of my foot. Strange but the exercise is helping it and if only for that reason I need to keep doing it or else I won't be able to walk.

You will do it - if I can do it I think anyone can.

awe, That's wonderful news. I just got back from walking 45 minutes. It's a good start I think.
