Hello and a brief intro
Haven't been here in years. Well, not here, even then. I have been lurking here for a couple of months while I went thru the approval process, again.
5 years ago I was approved and scheduled for RNY and canceled for some simple and some not so simple reasons.
I have gained and lost the same 20-25 pound doing low carb since then and am now two and a half weeks from a lap sleeve. I could not be more excited! I like the idea of VSG and my new doc has a great pre and post surgery program. I am pretty sure it is the right surgery at the right time.
I am not sure how much I will post but I fairly sure that after surgery I very well may need all the support I can get
I have my nutrition consultation last week and have been easing into it.
I have learned most low carb things from an Atkins prospective and they pretty much ignore how high the fat may go. So there is learning curve for sure.
Quitting coffee is not so bad but I love iced tea and am going to try some decaf (which I rejected years ago as lacking the blac****d tea taste I want) this week. I don't know how I will get through 2 weeks with no caffeine. Pretty sure I can give up the wine for 2 months, but if I do that why not quit forever?
I want to be 100% compliant by Monday so there are a full 2 weeks for liver shrink!
