Drinking too much too soon?

Tomorrow I will be a week out and just today I have been able to drink about 4oz within 7-10 minutes. Is this too much too fast? I am drinking either water or Isopure, nothing thick, and I am not in any pain, so do you think this is ok?

That is great - be happy that you can!!!  If it isn't causing you pain or gas, don't worry!

Sounds like me post-op. Be thankful! I would just caution you to be aware when you're drinking to make sure it doesn't make you nauseated.

Enjoy your journey. Hope it's a smooth recovering for you!

I can drink clear liquids pretty quickly, although water is still a bit of a challenge on its own. I remind myself to sip more slowly. I don't get pain either, but I will say that I am pretty hungry now (12 days out) and I think if I was able to drink more slowly and purposefully it would help me out more. I'm going to make a conscious effort to go slowly tomorrow. As I introduce more full liquids in the coming days, I'm a wee bit concerned that I will overdo it and make myself sick. I guess that'll teach me, eh? But I'd rather learn this lesson on my own before I have to learn it the hard way lol. Good luck to you!

You should be fine.  The stomach empties quickly.  I also had no difficulty getting fluids in very early out.  I am happy for you!

I also had no problems early out getting fluids in, but I was told to only take in 1 ounce every 5 minutes. I can sip it over 5 minutes or take it at once. Im now 4 weeks out and have stopped following that rule and try to get in 2 ounces every 5 minutes or so

I am doing a bottled water in about 2 hours, so that is less that 1 oz in 5 minutes over 2 hours. :)
