60 Years Old Today
Today I turned 60. Today is just under 15 weeks since I had my surgery and 7 months since I started my pre-op dieting. Today I am down over 87 lbs. The new saying is 60 is the new 40. I don't know about that but I do know that I look and feel better than I have in years. Eating is not what it used to be. I have to make proper choices and stick to my exercise schedule. I have to keep my calories and carbs down but my protein up. It's not always easy but I'm using my sleeve like the tool it is and that has made made all the difference.
Today I turned 60. Seven months ago I wondered if I would make 65. Now I wonder how close to 100 I'll be.
Happy Birthday, and congratulations on the excellent weight loss. You must feel great. Its good to enter a new decade with the promise of better health and mobility. I had my surgery about 9 weeks ago at 64 years of age, and I'm feeling so hopeful. I wish you the best.
Keep up the good work!

I'll be 61 on September 24th. My surgery is August 1st. I'm glad to see that age doesn't necessarily slow the weight loss process after surgery. I was afraid it would take longer to lose the weight. Congratulations on your awesome weight loss, Happy Birthday, and keep me posted on your continued progress. Yes, 60 is the new 40, but I like to think of myself as 35, with 25 years experience. Take care....
Happy Birthday Rms!!! You're doing really well and have much to be proud of! Age is just a number - what a cliche, but a true one! I had my surgery exactly one month before my 65th birthday...........and will celebrate my 66th birthday at the end of this month. At just one year out, I've changed from a slow, out of shape, super morbidly obese woman who sometimes needed a walker to get around. Today, after 100 + pounds lost, I feel like I'm 40 and don't need a walker, am in the best shape I've been in since my college years, and people ask me to slow down when walking with me LOL So, yes, life gets so much better.
Keep up the great job you're doing! And look out world.........here comes another candidate for the century mark!!!
