Finally I'm speaking out
Hi. I've been an OH stalker for almost a year now.....(wow how time flies). I've learned so much from you all and have been inspired in so many ways. I had VSG in Oct 2012 and had some complications. I hope that something I went through can help someone else b/c even though the stats are low.....complications do happen. I just wrote all about it in my profile so if you want check it out and friend me. Also, I'm on mfp as whimsygurl and would love some friends on there. :)
A quick summary is as follows:
a little over 9 months out and starting weight was 269. surgery weight 254. current weight 160. goal weight 135. I'm 5'4". I started out in a size 28 pants size 30/32 shirts and am currently in size 13/14 pants, XL shirts. I eat 600-800 cals per day and get at least 80 gms protein a day most days 100gms, under 20 carbs most days, under 30 always. I shoot for 100oz liquids per day but always make it to 64 at a minimum just to stay hydrated and functioning. I do cardio at least 30 minutes 6 days/week(Couch to 5K or recumbent bike) and just started zumba and LOVE it. I'm not perfect but I've learned soooo much about myself and how much exercise can help with the emotions that we used to use food to deal with. Read my story and you'll understand where a lot of my emotions have come from over the last year.
Anyways, I'm way over due to be an active part of this forum but better late than never!
Raymie
Thanks for sharing your story! I'm a lurker as well and it looks like we had surgery around the same time. So glad things are going better for you and that you still have such a positive attitude!
Click on "Community" and then "Find Members". You can then put in the person's username. Mine is MayPenGirl305. Feel free to add me if you like. Just let me know you're from OH.
I'm glad the worst is over. 109 pound loss. That is awesome!! Congrats. I just sent you a friend request on MFP.
Hey there, fellow Denham resident here. =) Sorry to hear that you had so many problems with your surgery. I'm glad things are looking up now though and that you're doing so well. Our stats were really close for surgery but I'm way behind you as far as loss. I just joined Anytime fitness by the Bass Pro so hopefully that'll kick my loss up again. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing!
