Today is the day!! I lost 9lbs on the preop diet and I'm sure I will gain that back in fluids the next 3 days lol I'm scared this morning, but I know it will all be fine. Luckily hubby just had this done 3 wks ago today, so I have some first hand knowledge of what to expect. I am not going to compare my weight loss to him though of course (men suck!!! lol) Looking forward to seeing ya'll on the losers bench. Hubby will update site when I'm out of surgery.

You'll do great.  I'll hold you in my prayers.  I can't wait to share success stories with you from the loser's bench!

My husband and I both had the surgery as well. My husband had his surgery 6 months before I did and I am right on track with the weight loss. He is at 10 months and has lost 130 and I am at 4 months and have lost 52. We lovingly tease each other. He told me yesterday that he looks like a greyhound/sharpei mix. I hope I have been able to make you smile. Keep thinking good thoughts and I am looking forward to your husbands post.

Princesswimmer, I just went to the top of your post to get your name so I would recognize your husbands post about your surgery. My husband is a scuba diving instructor and I am a dive master. We had both gotten so big it was difficult to get in and out of the water. Yesterday we finished teaching and certified our 10 year old grand daughter to scuba dive. We have our life back and getting in and out of the water was easy. Everything gets easier when you are not carrying around excess weight. I am very happy for the two of you.

Debra- I'm a dive instructor as well, though I haven't taught a class in some time.  I had started to feel too self conscious about myself (to always be in a bathing suit in front of people when you're this heavy is a nightmare).  I look forward to getting back into things again.

Best Wishes today and look forward to seeing you back online!!!!!

Congrats on your initial weight loss, I did gain 4 pounds from the fluids but lost it almost immediately.

It's great you have the experience from your hubby, that will make things a little easier.

Good Luck today!!!!!
