Usually your surgeon or nutritionist should supply you with this.

There are some "mushy food" ideas here: http://vsgfaq.wordpress.com/

It works if you work it; it sorta works if you sorta work it; and it doesn't work if you don't work it.

I've been doing whatever sounds good and then puree it with some low sodium chicken broth or beef broth.  Lasagna florentine (I made some for the family) tasted great, but the green color was a bit much.  I drink 2 protein drinks/day to make sure get in my 80 grams of protein.  SF chocolate pudding for a treat.  This has been a lot easier than the carb counting before surgery and the clear liquids the day before.  It helps that I don't feel hungry and that I make sure I get my 64 oz minimum water and vitamins.  For recipes I just make it for the family (they are losing weight with me) and grind it to puree for me.

I found that early out, salmon, sea scallops and tuna sat well in my tummy.  I also ate chicken salad, egg salad, deviled eggs and tuna salad then.  I started making a mashed cauliflower to replace the starch in my meals, and I really got to liking that - although you are probably still eating only proteins now.  And thank goodness for Greek Yogurt.  I add artificial sweeteners and a few berries and it was such a treat!

My advice is to take it slow.  I could only fit about 1 to 1.5 ounces in at each meal until I was almost 2 months out.  Now I can eat 4 ounces per meal at 4 months out.  I found it really frustrating with the tiny servings, but it doesn't last forever.

best of luck,

Carol

I'm at week 3....  For soft foods, like Carol mentioned.... take it slowwwwwwwwwwwww

I found that a little gas was trying to escape and caused minor pain because I was eating too fast.

In addition to protein shakes (2x) and 6 cups of H2O, here are some items my NUT advised.... 1/4 cup at a time:

Scrambled Eggs- I tried mine with a little cheese, but it sat better with me without. First time out, I got through 1/2 egg, but was satisfied.  The best way the eggs worked for me was over medium.  The yolk helped the egg go down for sure.

String Cheese

Salmon- I wrapped it around LF cream cheese.  The cream cheese sat really well and smoothed out the salmon.

Hummus

Soft pears in natural juice (helped with digestion)

LF Cottage Cheese

The only issue I had was constipation.  May want to discuss with your doc in advance.  I also made the mistake of trying Spicy V8!  Not good!

Good luck and feel free to ask any questions!
