1 week out....question
So I got sleeved 1 week ago and I started my soft diet today. For breakfast I made myself a scrambled egg. I was soooo excited to actually eat something that required chewing...but after only 4 bites I was FULL. And then for lunch I was only able to eat a few bites of mashed potatoes. Is this normal?? I feel like I should be eating a little more...or no?
Remember that there's a lot of swelling in your new baby sleeve. You'll be able to take in a lot more liquid than solid. Solids sit in the stomach because of the pyloric valve, while liquids slide through a lot faster. 4 bites is not surprising. Take it easy. It's really easy to over stuff yourself, especially at the beginning and the result there is either vomiting or being super uncomfortable until it passes on through. Listen to your sleeve after every bite! That's something I'm STILL learning at 10 weeks out!
Best of luck!!

No, don't eat a little more! Your baby sleeve is still very, very swollen at one week post-op.
I was on full liquids for 3 weeks post-op, and then I moved to soft foods. I too ate a scrambled egg and could only eat about 2/3 of it at 3 weeks out.
