Six Month Surgiversary
Today marks six months since I had my surgery and I can happily state that so far It has been a resounding success! I've lost just over 110 pounds including pre-op and have just under 50 pounds to go to reach my personal goal.
Everything about my life has become "normal". From my cloths, to how I fit into cars and airplanes to how people treat me. I'm no longer call "Big Rick" by my friends. People say I am more enthusiastic about things and more out going. Personally, I don't think so but if they want to think that, I'm fine with it.
i have become somewhat of a health and fitness freak. I still exercise twice a day and track everything I eat. I'm still limiting carbs and fat in my diet. However, I will confess to more than an occasional scotch and cigar.
Once it was confirmed that my surgery was going to take place, it has been a fairly smooth ride. I had no issues after surgery. I have experienced some stalls but I've learned to not get frustrated and just ride them out.
All in all this has been a remarkable experience. I look forward to the next six months and meeting my goal. For anyone considering a VSG to aid in your weight loss, I highly recommend it but be prepared to change not only your body physically but mentally as well. Good things will come your way if you develop a plan and stick to it.
A good carpenter can take his tools and turn a piece of wood into a beautiful piece of art. I've learned that VSGi is my tool and my body can be turned into a piece of art too, well as artful as a 60 year old body can be.
Now onto a celebratory fancy cigar and a glass of Johnnie Walker Blue to compliment it! Yay to me and my sleeve!
