I'm so sorry that the frustration is getting to you. This part is SO temporary compared to the rest of your life. When I got into the same rut, I tried to find ways to trick my brain into thinking I was eating. Popsicles, frozen protein shakes, etc. Take care of yourself. Trust me, you don't want to eat before your sleeve is ready. I did and it HURT. I felt like such an idiot because is done it to myself.

Take care, hon. You're on the Losers' Bench. The hard part is over. It ONLY gets easier from here. You've got this!!

I'm totally with you! Three days left on liquids and I want to start counting down the hours! While I don't have any advice for you, I can absolutely relate! Everyone says this is the hardest part! We can do it! Stay strong!

I was right there with you.  I have an addiction to watching food shows. Eating a Popsicle was the best way for me to pass the time when I felt the urge just to want to eat something when on my liquid phase of my post op diet. It was something that I could chew and yet it counted towards my fluids. I even just chewed on ice chips. Stay strong it will pass and you will be surprised after you can start eating that it wasn't as bad as it seemed.

Welcome to the Losers Bench and to the start of the rest of your life!

I know it doesn't feel like it when you are in the middle of the liquid stage, but it'll be over soon, and you'll be adding foods before you know it.  I would eat sugar-free, fat-free pudding with protein powder mixed in, and sugar-free jello and yogurt early out.

So hang in there.  It'll be worth it when the weight starts falling.

I totally hear you.  Everything on TV is about food!  I have a few more days left before I can start soft foods and it feels like an eternity.  I am defeinitely grouchy around my wife, which I feel like I am always apologizing. I just keep counting the days till I can have something solid.  Keep your head down. I'm with you....it totally sucks!

I was allowed any thing that would go thru a strainer , including baby food ( 3 month  chicken and gravy yum , turkey and gravy )

strained cream soups , ice pops jello, sf pudding , read a good book instead of watching tv

I was luck I only had 2 weeks of full liquids then moved on to full food starting with softer stuff like eggs and fish

I am on my liquid diet as well..first week post-op. I couldn't stand the incessant commercials about food, so I turned off the TV and downloaded some books. Hours pass by while I sip on my isopure rtd fruit drink and I am not nearly as frustrated as I was when I first got home. Hang in there the results will be so rewarding!

I couldn't handle commercials either. Sometimes they still get to me! I also recommend SF popsicles to get the feeling of "eating" something. This will pass soon. I'm only 5 months out, yet that first month after surgery is already becoming a distant memory. Hang in there!
