Pre-op liquid diet personal question
I hate to ask this but I have no where else to ask. My surgeon requires a two week liquid diet before surgery. During those two weeks we will be attending a graduation. Here's my very personal question...what does the two week liquid diet do to your bowel movements? Would you have been able to attend an event where you'd not have access to a restroom for a few hours? I apologize in advance for the personal nature of this question. Thank you in advance for any information.
Our 2 week diet was total meal "replacement" type drinks and they were fine...we were allowed 4 a day and by the end of the 2 weeks I was happy to have 2 some days....mix them up and then put them in the freezer to get really cold...that was the trick for me...or add some flavors to the vanilla one like coconut or almond...not a problem...and no excessive BM's either...all was good..
Good luck
Pre op, you should be fine. Post op, the rule is: never trust a fart.

For me it took about 3 weeks...once I moved to soft solids, things were all good!
