Stomach Cramps
I'm about 2 1/2 months out of surgery and a couple of weeks ago I started having these strange stomach cramps. I can't really explain how they feel - just imagine cramping in your upper midsection. It doesn't last more than ten minutes at the longest and my doctor said that I need to call right away if it doesn't go away within an hour.
Does anyone know what is causing this? It doesn't really matter what I have eaten - they come with different types of foods and sometimes I get them when I haven't eaten anything.
Okay, this might sound like a strange question, but are you taking a statin for cholesterol? I used to get them (like a charley horse in my abdomen, and would most often happen when I was laying down). I have read that it is a common side effect of statins, and taking CoQ10 helps. It really did for me. After my sleeve surgery, the doc made me temporarily stop the CoQ10, and guess what - I started with the cramping again! Now that I'm back on the CoQ10 the issue has gone away.
No, actually my cholesteral went from being in the high 500's to mid 100's. If it didn't go down I was going to have to start on statins but turns out I don't need to anymore.
