4 days since surgery, no protein yet.

is it okay that is 4 days out and I still haven't had a protein shake. Jus****er and broth. when do I NEED to start drinking protein?

I was on a strict clear liquid diet for the first 10days post op. My doctor wanted my stomach to have plenty of time to heal. He didn't worry about me getting in protein, just wanted to me to be sure and get in my fluids to stay hydrated. At 10 days, I was only able to have protein shakes and cream soups. I didn't start tracking my protein intake until I was moved to soft food stage around 3 weeks. 

Age: 34 ~ Height: 5'5 ~ HW: 287 (7/28/2013) ~ SW: 272 ~ GW: 150 ~ Goal weight met 8/9/2014

Follow your surgeon's plan. If full liquids aren't on your plan yet, then don't do protein shakes yet.

Chrissy full liquid, which I was on two weeks, includes protein shakes. 

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

Right. Mine too. But I was saying that if she wasn't on full liquids yet, then no shakes.

You loose muscle mass and risk greater hair loss without protein.

My 2nd meal in the hospital was full liquids with protein supplements.  Not sure why some Dr's are so much more extreme than the others.
