Just noticed that one of my incisions has widened. Staples were removed on Thursday. Any idea on how to close it up so scar isn't so bad?

You may want to go get some steri-strips from your local drugstore. If you can't find them, butterfly sutures may work as well.

Good luck!!

I bought steri strips and re-taped but it didn't do any good.

Hey, I had mine out on Tuesday.  I have two that have reopened. One of them has started to close but isn't going too look nearly as nice as the others.. Then my other one is a black hole and you can see down inside. Its at the corner of one of my incisions and is as round as a pencil eraser. I am a little upset, I even asked the tech if she should put some strips or glue, since I only had the staples for a week but she said no. The incisions were just closing..  I asked my mom(she is a PT) and she said it should be fine, but I am going to call DR  office Monday, I want a stitch or some glue.. I don't want some ugly scar.. or it to get infected. You should call if you are concerned. I tried the strips and its not working.

Call your doctor!!!   Sometimes the incisions do open up a bit.  My hysterectomy incisions did.  But Dr needs to know, let him know how long, if it is deep at all and if draining. When my hysterectomy opened up I had one of my nurse friends check it and we called the doc.  He didn't have me do anything, but just in case.  If quite a bit maybe doc could put new steri strips on for you.
