Anyone SW 300lbs reach GW 145?

I'm currently on day 1 of my 2week pre-op diet at 300lb. I'm curious if anyone reached a goal weight near or at 145lbs?

I'm not at 145...but I started around where you are so I figured maybe my post might help. I was 307 before my 3 week pre op diet, 285 the day of surgery and now 6 mos out I am sitting at 197.5 lbs...so 110 lbs lost since the pre-op diet. I am 5'7" and am quite large framed.

I can't imagine getting my frame down to 145 lbs. I'm striving for 170 and then I'll reassess when I get there. Are you basing the 145 on a BMI based on your height or have you been at that weight before in your past? I'm just curious! :-)

I would suggest really sticking close to the diet plan your doctor sets out for you or one recommended by the vets that is low carb, low fat, high protein. My first 4-5 months the weight came off pretty steadily with a few plateaus along the way but now it has certainly slowed down. I amped up my exercise in the last 6 weeks and it has been a bit better. I think my last 30 pounds is going to be a struggle to get off but I am committed to making it happen.

Good luck on your journey...

Thanks for the reply my previous weight was 138. I have a small frame and a short torso/long legs when I started gaining weight from the depoprovera I lookec huge by the time I hit 160. But the main reason is to be in a normal BMI range

I'm here to tell you it CAN be done! :-)

I started at 314 lbs and am now at 159, so that's about the same spread you're describing. I've done it in less than a year. It takes commitment and vigilance, but it's very do-able.

I started my two week liquid diet the day AFTER Thanksgiving last year, so I also had about the same timeframe as you.

My recommendation is to begin now using positive affirmations to tell yourself that your goal is very much in reach. It's the head in this journey that I find takes the most work.

YOU CAN DO THIS! :-)
