how many days to wait to call the insurance company
Some people say wait a week, some call the next day. It is completely up to you. I waited two weeks before I started checking on things and wish that I'd started a lot sooner because Cigna had messed up a few things and my info had to be resubmitted due to no fault of my own or my surgeon's insurance specialist. I'll also say that it's wise to have a sopy of your insurance plan's bariatric coverage requirements IN HAND when you call so that you can fact check and make sure that you're being told the right things... It's been my experience that insurance companies don't train their people very well in dealing with bariatric patients' information... Or maybe I just continually ended up with uninformed reps when I called...
Best of luck! Be the squeaky wheel that gets the grease.

Hi. I gave 48 hrs to my a insurance before i called. Is asked them to fast track paper work and it got approved in 2 days. Surgery scheduled for dec 30th. I actually did almost all pre test work before insurance even Approved. I had checked my coverage and knew it would be as I meant all criteria they had. I wish you best of luck.
I don't think it hurts anything to call them soon. They can at least confirm if they received the paperwork, and give you an estimate on when a decision would be made.
Best of luck,
Carol
